Our Year 5 Guided Writing Course is designed to cover all the necessary writing techniques and genres for students to succeed in the 11+ and Independent School entrance exams.
Structure
Weekly sessions lasting 1.5 hours will be held in small groups. Each group is taught by an experienced teacher, who is an expert in creative writing. Every week a new way of writing is discussed and explored with the teachers modelling. Weekly homework is discussed in these sessions also and guidance is provided weekly to help develop knowledge. A weekly test is conducted on the topic covered that week. Homework and weekly tests are evaluated, and feedback is given that not only suggests improvement points but also examples of how the writing could have been improved.
